Beauty: Glasses & Makeup

It's very rare to find me out in public wearing glasses (I've needed them since I was 10). However, I ran out of contact lenses, so I've been wearing my glasses every day for the last two weeks. Now, it's not that I get self-conscious wearing glasses or anything; contacts are just my preference. Growing up, I was considered a tomboy. I'd be the only girl playing basketball with the boys at recess and lunch, I was very competitive playing basketball, volleyball, and indoor soccer (smashing other players against the wall was my highlight), and anything and everything "girly" disgusted me. Playing sports with glasses was hindering and my sports goggles always fogged up, so I begged my parents for contacts at the age of 12. Somewhere around the age of 16 was when the estrogen started kicking into overdrive. It was like my body was forcing me to become girly. I actually started crying when I watched romantic, love movies (I literally thought, "Where the hell are these tears coming from?!" when I watched A Walk to Remember for the seventh time), caring about my hair and the way I dressed, and becoming more and more interested in makeup. It started with eyeliner only, and that was just for my waterline, but over the years, I kept adding more to my routine.
I eventually got to the point where I didn't mind wearing my glasses more, because I no longer play sports on a regular basis. I have to put on some makeup with the glasses though! There's no way you'd catch me with glasses without makeup, because 1. the glasses bring attention to my eyes and make my eyebrows look nonexistent and 2. they make my face look "top-heavy."
So, I decided to create this post to share with you the products I used for the look in this picture. Hope you enjoy! Also, if you're a fellow glasses wearer, leave comments with the products you like to use.

  3. I actually only wear my glasses when I don't wear make-up (or when I need them, of course). I feel like the glasses hide my face a little and make it less obvious that I'm not wearing it. :b Especially my prescription sunglasses. Those are awesome.

In other words, you'll probably never see me wearing my glasses and make-up at the same time. D:

    1. The only time you'll catch me wearing glasses without makeup is when I'm being a lazy bum at home...like right now. Haha! I have to, at the very least, do my eyebrows when I wear my glasses, because my eyebrows are very light and feathery. Even without glasses, you can barely tell that they're there!
