Life Rambles: Studying, Coffee, and Colin Fix

Hey everyone! It's Monday, the start of a new week and for a lot of people, the most dreaded day. I, on the other hand, am un-phased by the typical stereotypes attributed to the days of the week. This is due to the fact that I haven't been going to school nor have I been working for the last four and a half months. These past four and a half months have felt odd to me, for I am used to either going to school, working, or both at the same time (I've been working since I was 16). My type A personality is longing for structure in my life! So, instead, I've been stu(dying) for the National Board Exam for Certification in Occupational Therapy. As you may recall from a previous post, there a specific coffee shop I enjoy going to to study. I spent a little over four hours there today reviewing the latest practice exam I took, taking notes of concepts I should review before the big day, and of course, enjoying the delicious coffee they have to offer.
My lovely view as I studied at East Bay Coffee Company
I was probably the only person in the coffee shop who wasn't on a laptop. Oh, well. I would have been tempted to do everything but study if I brought my laptop out anyway...as if I wasn't already distracted enough by my iPhone. In fact, I posted this picture on my Instagram, and after about 20 minutes, someone commented on the photo, stating her husband was in the picture. Turned out that the guy sitting closest to me in the photo was her husband. In addition to Instagram, I was also distracted by all the texts I was receiving. I know, I could have simply ignored the texts and responded to them afterward, but I didn't.
You may also recall from a previous post that drinking coffee is imperative when I study. Hence, the cup of caramel latte with almond milk on the right. This obviously didn't last me the full four hours, and trust me, I kept thinking about getting another cup. I didn't, though, due to better judgement. I would have come home in a hyper state, one that would have completely baffled my fiance.
Anyway, like the artwork on the wall? The art featured is from artist, Colin Fix. The opening ceremony for the exhibit was this past Saturday, which Alejandro and I attended. Below, you'll find some of my favorite pieces from the exhibit.

There's a whimsical aspect to Colin Fix's artwork that I enjoy. If you'd like to see more of his work, you can find it on his blog here.
So, that's it. This is what my Monday has consisted of so far. Since I just started blogging, I'll probably spend the rest of my day finding more blogs to follow via Bloglovin as well as figure out what other things to post. If you have any suggestions or requests, please let me know! I'm open to anything. Happy Monday, all! Enjoy the rest of your day.
In Words, With Love,
Vanessa Mae
